Abstract Title : Readiness in Using English for Communication to Participate in the ASEAN Community of 2nd Year Accounting Major Students in Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla Authors : Khwanchanok Kanjanachumaburop Anok Cholsin Orawan Yongdum Degree : Bachelor of Arts Program : English for International Communication Department : Foreign Languages Advisor : Mr. Nattana Boontong Academic Years : 2013 This research aimed to evaluate the readiness in using English for communication of accounting students to participate in the ASEAN community and to compiled an English for accountancy handbook for the students to evaluate. The population was 83 second-year accounting students, 7 foreign language teachers and 3 accounting teachers. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire on the readiness to participate in the ASEAN community which was divided into the four skills listening, speaking, reading and writing. Data were analyzed for descriptive statistics by using mean (x ) and standard deviation (S.D.). The result of this research indicated that the students had a moderate level in all four skills, listening skills is the best and speaking skill is the least. From the results, the researchers made an English accounting handbook. The handbook was evaluated for suitability by 8 English teachers and 3 accounting teachers. The evaluation form was divided into 4 parts. From the result, the researchers found that the evaluators were highly satisfied in 4 areas; external description, content, presentation format and illustrations and language and letters at the much level.
